Through hosting the event in a responsible manner, we strive to reflect the importance of local economic development, environmental responsibility and sustainable best practice in the events industry.
Top 10 Sustainability Tips for Exhibitors
- Approach this exhibition sustainably from the outset by choosing an eco-friendly design. If you are using a shell scheme stand, then opt for eco-friendly accessories or the executive package with fabric graphics that can be re-used at future events. If you have a custom designed stand, ask your stand design company to provide a green solution, both in terms of the design and the materials used.
- Select indigenous and locally-grown plants for your stand. A range of indigenous plants is available including: Yellowwood, Natal Mahogany, Mother-in-law’s Tongue and Chlorophytum.
- Reduce your use of energy by insisting on energy-efficient technology for your stand, such as LED lighting or energy-efficient plasma screens. Also consider switching off power to your stand at night.
- Consider car-pooling for travel to and around the event to reduce your carbon footprint. This will also alleviate the parking congestion at the Sandton Convention Centre and will save you money!
- If you are from out-of-town, why not make use of the Gautrain and hotel shuttle services (where applicable) when getting around. This will also go a long way to reducing your carbon footprint. Click here for more information and to view the Gautrain schedule.
- Make the most of your time at Meetings Africa by planning meetings around the show. With so many key players in one location at the same time, the show provides the perfect opportunity to meet, and thereby decreasing your need for future travel and that of your carbon footprint.
- Rather than relying on bottled water, make use of the water coolers that are freely available on the exhibition floor. Consider renting a water cooler for visitors and clients rather than providing bottled water. Every bottle of water consumed adds to our overall footprint and this results in negative impacts on our environment.
- Make use of the recycling bins at the show. They will be clearly labelled so please help us minimise waste by choosing the correct bin for the waste you dispose of.
- Avoid having printed hand-outs on your stand. Rather share information electronically with visitors to your stand.
- If you want to give gifts to people visiting your stand, try to procure locally-produced items, and in the process support our local economy. A comprehensive database of local suppliers can be found here.
Top 8 Tips for Hosted Buyers and Delegates
- To offset your carbon footprint, consider purchasing a tree for only R200 incl VAT. This can be ordered through the Hosted Buyer Portal. After the event, the trees will be planted in a local community.
- To offset your carbon footprint, participate in carbon management initiatives offered by airlines, accommodation providers and transport options made available through the organisers. Each of these will reduce your personal impact of attending this flagship event.

Stand Rates and Packages
Discount Structure
Maximum discount is limited to 25%, regardless of how many of the above categories an exhibitor qualifies for. This discount structure applies only to floorspace rates, with the exception of the following package options: the SITE Pavilion, Introductory, Business Meeting Hub, and Plug & Meet Pavilion, which will be charged at the full space rate.

Double Storey Stands:
Please note that all double storey stands will be charged for the area utilized upstairs on the second level at 25% of stand rate charged excluding VAT. Additional build costs will be billed upon submission of the stand design.

Please note that on floorspace stands only, it is compulsory to order a DB Board as per the breakdown below. This will be included on any quotes requested. Please inform your stand building contractors accordingly.
